Citation method

A) Referencing method in the research text

The work has one author:

(last name of the author, year of publication: pp. or pp.)

Example:

"Superstition also means following baseless false beliefs that do not have any proportion with the level of culture and knowledge of the society to which the superstitious person belongs" (Molviganjeh, 1382: 1).

or in one of these ways:

Mohammadi's research (1392) came to the conclusion that...

In a recently published research (Hosseini, 2019) it was found that...

˗

Note 1: If the quote is direct, it is necessary to mention the page. Direct quotations are separated by quotation marks.

Note 2: The last name of the author of the work must come without titles such as Mr., Mrs., Engineer, Professor, Doctor, Hajjah-ul-Islam, etc.

Note 3: Don't use lowercase names in the text.

A work with two or three authors:

Up to three authors, all three are written:

Example:

The awareness of parents, teachers and school counselors about students' learning styles can also play an important role in preventing academic failure (Rodbari and Hosseinchari, 2018).

Or:

The goal structure of the classroom can be mastery (competency development), performative (proving competence) or non-functional (avoiding proof of incompetence) (Lovasani, Hejazi, and Yazdani-Varzneh, 2011).

A work with four or more authors:

When you cite a work that has more than three authors, mention only the last name of the first author, followed by colleagues or others.

Example:

Academic self-handicapping refers to behaviors that students usually use to protect themselves from the failure that threatens them in school (Fatihizadeh et al., 2017).

More than one work by the same author has been published and used in one year:

If more than one work from a specific author is used in the text of the article, all of which are related to the same year, the sources are distinguished from each other by mentioning A, B, C, etc. after mentioning the year. For example: (Afshani et al., 1391 A: 121) and (Afshani et al., 1391 B: 121).

Works that are published in the name of organizations or institutions:

Example:

(Scientific Documentation Center, 1362).

Two or more works of the same author in a parenthesis:

Hosseini's research (1380 and 1388) has shown...

Translated works, just give the name of the author:

Skinner (1370) believes...

Or:

"The appropriateness of professors' teaching with the students' learning style strengthens the learning motivation and academic progress" (Lowell, 2016: 127).

Second hand sources

Cite first-hand sources as much as possible. And use second-hand sources if necessary and in moderation.

Example

Almond's definition of attitude (quoted by Hosni, 2010: 2).

According to Kobasa (1982), stubbornness is a personality trait that acts as a source and protective shield (cited by Mehrabizadeh et al., 2019).
