Abstract
International migration is an old phenomenon that has been carried out in various forms and with various purposes and continues for various reasons. Due to the prevalence of migration in today's world, all human societies are somehow facing challenges related to migration. The consequences related to the issue of immigration have faced challenges for the second-generation Afghan immigrant teenagers in Iran. The exposure of teenagers to the culture and values of the host society and the choice of a type of acculturation (identification, separation, integration and marginalization) to adapt and play a role in the social arena, has made researchers need to study in this field. Therefore, this article has tried to study the processes of identification of Afghan teenagers living in Yazd city. This research was conducted with qualitative methodology and grounded theory approach, with a sample of 17 young Afghan immigrants. In this process, the data have been analyzed and reviewed through the open, axial and selective coding method. The main categories discovered include: boredom with the label of close others, hegemonic normative pressures of authority-seeking families, resentment of close others, cultural deconstruction of the family, etc. The results of the research showed that teenagers feel alienated from aspects of Afghan culture and do not want to accept restrictive aspects. On the other hand, parts of the Iranian society's culture and tradition, which create a feeling of freedom of action and choice in teenagers, have been accepted by these teenagers.
